The Word Of God!

Good Morning, Everyone!

What a beautiful late summer morning we are experiencing here in Indiana. Our God Is Great and Greatly to be praised! He has been so faithful to us!

I know it has been awhile since my last post so I hope everyone will forgive me. The only excuse I have is that we have been busy trying to finish up the home Church and we are almost there. Praise God! Now on to today’s post.

After much prayer, the following scriptures came to me so I wanted to share them with you all. Irvin has been preaching and teaching the Word of God for over 27 years now and it is amazing how the Lord uses him to speak the Truth found in God’s Holy Word! How many of you know that hearing the truth about ourselves can sometimes hurt? Boy, I know it first hand! There were times when we first got married and I heard Irvin preach that I didn’t even want to go home with him because the Holy Spirit in him was “reading my mail”, so to say! The conviction that was coming through the Word of God wanted to change me, but I had to let it. You see, Irvin wasn’t only preaching God’s Truth, he was also doing his best to live God’s Truth, and he still is to this very day!

Now you are probably asking what does what I just said have to do with the following scriptures? Well, let me try to tie this all together for you. You may also want to read Ephesians 4 because the short of both these Bible chapters brings better understanding. By this I mean, What you say and what you do tells and shows people What is and Who is really in your heart! Do you hear what I am saying? Speaking the Truth in Love may not always be received in that same love by the people you are talking with. Hurt feelings and misunderstandings can happen because the people you are talking with aren’t ready to receive the Truth. And then you have people who are just speaking their opinion, seasoned with what they perceive as God’s Truth but without any evidence of God’s Love. In the Book of Matthew, Jesus, Himself, called these people Hypocrits!

God warns us all through His Holy Bible, to watch our tongue. He tells us to make sure that our actions and our words line up if we really want to be credible witnesses for Him. That is why I have always admired and respected Irvin! No matter what some people may say or think, he has shown me that Jesus truly does make it possible to change from the old man and have a born-again life in Christ! Jesus died for us and rose again to give us victory over satan and his tricks. Jesus even sent the Holy Spirit to help us! We just have to learn to be smarter than satan. God even gave us His Holy Word to show us just how to live a Christ-like life in this lost and dying world. But it starts with each one of us looking at and in ourselves to change first.

This world can change if each of us are willing to let Jesus change us! If each one of us will let God work on us and our faults first then we can start to see things differently. If we stop pointing blame and finding fault with the other person then the Love of Jesus growing in us will soon outshine the darkness! God’s Holy Bible says in 1John 1:5-7 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Have a blest day! I hope to be back soon! Jesus loves you and we do, too!

James 3 New King James Version
The Untamable Tongue

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

Heavenly Wisdom Versus Demonic Wisdom

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
