Well, Here we are January 5, the first Sunday of this New Year, 2025! Our regular Church Services at Uniontown Baptist Church were cancelled today because we are under a Winter Storm Warning. Several in our Church Family drive some distance to attend. We are talking about people driving anywhere between 85 miles one way to 5 miles one way, and with 4-12 inches of snow being expected we thought it best to keep everyone home safe.

When we have to cancel Church at Uniontown, we still have a little Church Service here at home. We have a young family of, 5 who are our neighbors, and they like to join us so it was a very nice morning! Everyone got to share what was on their hearts and even the boys had prayers to pray.

The Lord had impressed upon me earlier this morning the scriptures Isaiah 43:18-19.

¹⁸ “Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
¹⁹ Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

We have read these verses and heard teachings on these verses many, many times over the past 26 years of ministry. God has always been faithful to show us a “New Thing” each year of the minstry He has placed us in. It’s always exciting to experience the new things of God and watch the plans He has for us unfold in our lives. Has He showed you any new things for the new year?

Now, I want to encourage you to forget the bad things of the past and the things in your old life! Sure, there may be things you can learn from but do not let them hinder you from moving into the New Things God has for you! Do you understand what I mean? As long as you have been born again in Christ Jesus by asking Him to forgive you of your sin and repenting of your sin, which means turning away from, then you can walk in the newness of your life in Christ. I know it is hard to forget because I have been there, but we have to remember that Jesus Is our Champion, He Is Victorious and He Is always there to help us fight the enemy if we just call out for Him.

I may not know all the plans that God has for us this year but He has been revealing some New Things inside my spirit! The precious Holy Spirit is stirring up even greater excitement as we have started our fast. We are hungering and thirsting for more of the Lord and we know He will fill us!

I hope you all will join us in seeking a more closer walk and more deeper relationship with the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ! Let us all start this year with a greater desire to please God! Let us be expecting new things from the Lord and don’t fear stepping out in faith and obedience to Him! Let us put off the old and let the new creation which Christ has made us start shining like never before! Let us continue the race before us hand in hand with Jesus leading the way!
