Uniontown Baptist Church
Dearest Brothers and Sisters In Christ, and anyone else who is reading this!
Jill and I just want to take a few minutes to share with you some of our thoughts on the past year, 2024, and to let you know what we are hoping for and expecting in the New Year, 2025. We first want to say “Thank You” for your faithfulness to serving our Lord, God Almighty! He has surely been faithful to all of us, hasn’t He?
The year 2024 seemed to have flown by for us but Jesus has helped us accomplish a lot for Him! We hoped for an increase in the things of God and we were so blest to experience them. We believe you, too, realize that the “spiritual” things of God far outweighs any of the “earthly” things we sometimes desire! We have recognized much spiritual growth in all of you here at Uniontown. Like Sister Linda says, “We may be small in numbers, but we are mighty in His Spirit”! Just think of all the answered prayers we received in the past year. Our Heavenly Father has truly been good to us all!
As the year ended we felt even a stronger, almost tangible presence of His precious Holy Spirit! Could you hear Him speaking to you and know that the voice you were hearing was His? Were you obedient in what He was asking of you? If you can’t answer “Yes” to those questions, please take time to ask Him to help you in those areas and He will help you as you keep seeking Him. He is wanting to take us all into a deeper understanding of His Holy Word and a closer walk with Him! He is wanting us all to be in “One Mind and One Accord” as we begin the New Year! Are you willing to keep pursuing Him in the days ahead? We do not want to leave anyone behind! Let us all continue to grow together in all the Lord has for us.
Has all the sacrifices you have made for Him in the past been worth it to you? When you got out of your warm bed on a Sunday morning to come to His House to worship Him, to push through the pain or the feel-bads to gather with your brothers and sisters to encourage one another, to listen to your bald-headed preacher go on and on about drawing closer to God? Have you reaped any rewards of your service to Him? Jill and I know that we have benefited greatly by honoring Him and we hope you have, too! We have seen lives touched and in the year ahead we want to see more! How about you? If we all want to experience an even “Mightier Move of God” in our lives,in the lives of our loved ones and across this world, then let it start in each of us!
You may be asking yourselves, “What can just a few people do?” Well, we have been here to tell you since 2009 and we will keep telling you in 2025 and for however long the Lord allows us to be here, One Man, His Name Is Jesus, changed the world! He used 12 disciples to help Him and many more followed! He Is the Same, Yesterday, Today And Forever!
He Is still using people, just like us few here at Uniontown, to make a difference in someone else’s life! Yes, we all can be used to change the world, “If” we all are willing to be obedient and follow Him!
Are you willing to keep drawing closer to Him in this New Year, 2025? Are you willing to keep putting “self” to the side and giving Jesus complete control of your life? Are you willing to recognize His power and give Him permission to rule and reign over you? We have all come too far to turn back now! The race is almost over and in the end, we win!
We are expecting 2025 to be a wonderful year because we know our God has even more great things ahead for us all in this New Year! We pray that we all will get our minds and hearts made up and get even more “bound and determined” to seek Him and obey Him. Our prayer is that we can experience the revival that we have been longing for to take place in the hearts of men and women everywhere. Dear Jesus, let it begin in all of Your people here at Uniontown Baptist Church and spread across this land like a wildfire! May our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, keep His loving arms wrapped around us all in the days ahead! Know that we love you and appreciate all of you and we are just a phone call away.
With Love Always,
Pastor Irvin and Jill
Matthew 24:1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
